Quartz in the Refrigerator

Quartz in the refrigerator is new to me. What is the benefit? Which one is the best: clear/rose/smokey/ritualised?

Rowena,

Hi Rowena!

Thanks for your thoughtful question. We suggest clear quartz for locating in your refrigerator. The refrigerator holds food that nourishes you, and clear quartz can be used to amplify this nourishing energy.

Be sure to clear the clear quartz and empower it with your intention that the food in the refrigerator is nourishing and creates vitality for you physically, mentally and spiritually. You can also use the feng shui bagua map on your refrigerator, and place the crystal in the center area which is related to overall health.

There are different ways to work with crystals, but I’d like to share a simple procedure to acquire, cleanse and activate the crystal.

  • Acquire a new crystal that finds you. To me this means one that speaks to you. Go with first thought is best thought, and don’t over think it. It may be the one that you literally see first.

  • Cleanse the crystal. Again there are dozens of methods, but one simple one is to use sage, incense, palo santo or another smudging method to clear any energy.

  • Dedicate and activate the crystal with your intention. In this case we are creating the intention that the clear quartz will amplify and enhance the nourishment of the food in your refrigerator, to support your body and spirit. Be sure you’re in a positive and open healing place when this is done. You can do this while bathing the crystal in pure bright sunlight.

You can read more about working with crystals in "Love is in the Earth", one of the most comprehensive crystal reference books available.

Remember that the intention behind this adjustment is as important as the adjustment itself. Take the time to find a crystal that resonates with you, and imbue it with positive, supportive energy before placing it into your refrigerator. We would love to see which crystal you choose!

Try Making This Feng Shui Change in Your Kitchen To Increase Your Wealth

Photo and design by Anjie Cho Architect PLLC

In feng shui, your stove represents your wealth and resources. This is where you prepare (or at least heat) food for you and your family, and being well-nourished is an important step in making sure you are able to go out in the world and cultivate financial resources

Ideally, it’s great to have a stove with several burners. More burners represent more opportunities to receive wealth, resources, and nourishment in your life. For instance, I recently designed a kitchen with a six-burner stove. This is wonderful if you have the space and resources to do this. However, not everyone can accommodate six burners in their home — I’ve also worked with people who only have two burners or a very tiny stove.

If you’re not able to upgrade your stove to a bigger one, don’t worry! You can adjust this with a carefully placed mirror. You’ll want the mirror to be located in a way so that it reflects your burners, which visually and energetically doubles them. As you put up this mirror, do it with the intention to double your wealth. Note: make sure you choose a mirror that can safely withstand heat if you are placing it close to your stove.

While this can help to create a powerful shift in your life, remember that feng shui is not a magic pill. Even more important than making feng shui changes in your home is taking mundane action. If you don’t show up for all the opportunities you have, no amount of feng shui is going to help. It’s important to step up and take care of yourself and explore the things that you want to change in your life

I invite you to get curious about how you can take action in conjunction with trying this feng shui adjustment. This could mean reaching out to more friends, or increasing your skills and wisdom so that you can deepen your offerings. Whatever you choose to do, make sure you are taking concrete steps here on earth in addition to making changes in the invisible world.

Feng Shui for Your Dining Table

When was the last time you used your dining table for dining? What about the last time you used it for something other than dining? We often tend to use our dining tables for other activities, including working. This is probably especially true recently, with so many people working from home. Sometimes, we even use our dining tables as a storage area.

Your dining table is a space to nourish your body, and a place to connect with your friends and family. It represents how you take care of yourself as well as your relationships. Your home represents you and is affected by you, so when you neglect certain areas of your home, it can reflect upon how you treat different areas of your life.

If possible, take time every day to eat mindfully at your dining table. Just like you wouldn’t want your friendships or nourishment to become neglected, it’s important not to neglect your dining table and allow it to get cluttered or dusty. If you are working from home currently and space is at a minimum, it’s possible that you do need to use your dining table as a desk as well. Instead of eating amongst your work papers at the end of the day, take a moment to put away the items connected to your work before you sit down to eat. Sometimes we’re in such a rush because we have a poverty mentality and we think we are running out of time. In reality, it doesn’t take that long to set up a nice meal for yourself and eat mindfully.

If you don’t have a dining table, create a small space dedicated to eating mindfully, at least once per day. I encourage you to make a dedication to take care of yourself in this way.  This might mean clearing off the coffee table, turning off the TV, and finding a beautiful placemat and dish for your dinner each night. Details like this can make your meal a more nourishing experience. By making space for a lovely meal, you’re making space to nurture yourself
