Join us as we celebrate the new moon with mindful ikebana, the Asian art of flower arrangement, as a contemplative dharma mindfulness practice to invite art into your everyday life.
“I don’t think you learn dharma art, you discover it; and you do not teach dharma art, but you set up an environment so it can be discovered” -- Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche
This workshop includes:
An instructional ikebana demonstration interwoven with contemplative dharma art, Buddhist, and Taoist teachings.
Teachings to invite a greater awareness of nature, your environment, and the world of flowers.
Explorations on how to connect with the qi (life force energy) of a flower and invite its wisdom into your home and meditation practice.
Practical learning on procuring and use of ikebana equipment.
Participants will create their own flower arrangement in the workshop
Connect with others who love flowers and contemplative arts.
This workshop is open to all, and requires no artistic experience.
